What is the weather like that far north? I don't know if I should bring summer or fall clothing, or a little of both.

So, let me get this straight... the ship sails at six, but we won't necessarily be certain our bags made it aboard until eight? Hmmm.... rethinking the contents of the carry-on here.

Also, for those of us who absolutely HATE having cameras shoved in our faces, is there any way to "opt out" of that stupid "Welcome Aboard" photo business? Mind you, I have no problem with the photo for security purposes, I can see the purpose in that.

Great tips. I definitely support the idea of packing a "carry on" bag for things you going to want quick access to that first night.

We've been on Caribbean cruises, where we brought swimsuits in our carry-ons, while everyone else stood around in the jeans they must've worn on the plane. It pays to think ahead.

Your camera, like-wise, should be in your "carry on" if you might want photos of the coast as the ship sets sail. And who doesn't want photos from the muster drill?

And you probably want your clothes for dinner in your carry on, just to be safe. I've never (knock on wood) waited that long to get my luggage, but someone has to be last every time.
